Ingredients: For Peanut butter recipe at home

  • 2 cups roasted unsalted peanuts
  • 1-2 tablespoons peanut oil (or any neutral oil)
  • Optional: Honey, sugar, or salt to taste (for sweetness or seasoning, if desired)

Instructions: How to make peanut butter recipe

1. Roasting Peanuts (optional):

If your peanuts are not already roasted, spread them evenly on a baking sheet and roast them in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 10-12 minutes until they turn golden brown.

Let them cool slightly.

2. Blending:

Add the roasted peanuts to a food processor or a high-powered blender. If you prefer crunchy peanut butter, reserve a handful of peanuts aside to add later.

Start blending at a low speed. Initially, the peanuts will break down into smaller pieces, and eventually, they'll turn into a thick paste.

3. Adding Oil:

As the peanuts blend, add 1-2 tablespoons of peanut oil gradually to help smoothen the consistency.

Add more oil for a smoother texture, or reduce it if you prefer a thicker peanut butter.

4. Adjusting Sweetness or Seasoning (Optional):

At this point, if you prefer sweetened peanut butter, add honey, sugar, or any preferred sweetener.

For salted peanut butter, add a pinch of salt according to your taste.

Blend again to incorporate the added ingredients evenly into the peanut butter.

5.Texture Adjustment (Optional):

If you reserved some peanuts for crunch, roughly chop them and add them to the blended peanut butter.

Pulse the processor a few times to incorporate the chopped peanuts for a crunchy texture.

6. Storage:

Transfer the freshly made peanut butter into an airtight jar or container.

It can be stored at room temperature for a week or two. For longer shelf life, store it in the refrigerator.

Homemade peanut butter is ready to enjoy! Spread it on toast, use it in sandwiches, or incorporate it into various recipes for a delightful nutty flavor.

Adjust the sweetness, saltiness, and texture to suit your preferences.
